What is an Oxygen Facial?

I first heard the oxygen facial, 2 or 3 months ago. I heard that it is costly but has effective results especially for those who are aging and want to maintain or regain their youth.

So what is an Oxygen Facial? According to health.howstuffworks.com, “an oxygen facial delivers a mixture of hyperbaric oxygen, or pure oxygen at a high pressure, and anti-aging serum through an airbrush to the face and body.” In layman’s terms, it’s simply applying or spraying oxygen to the skin with a hardware especially created for this process.

This skin care process is explicitly bringing craze to every woman today. According to some readings, it started when Madonna announced her beauty secret in her website last year. That’s the time when the technology of oxygen facial started to boom.

I haven’t tried it since I’m still looking for a good skin care clinic to have it done for me. My current skin care center is not yet offering this service but I’m willing to switch to another if I found a good place to take care of my skin.
Nevertheless, for those who want to try it as much I do. Here are the 3 known benefits that I found in the net. Again, I haven’t tried it so I can’t guarantee the effectiveness of any of these benefits. You must also understand that we have different skin types and effect may vary according to our skin types:

1. Minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and increases circulation, which is believed to boost collagen production

2. Provides relief for those who suffer from acne or the skin disorder rosacea.

3. Moisturizes and delivers vitamins and antioxidants that help to fight aging.

Now that we both know the benefits, let’s talk about the cost. In America, where this technology originated, the cost of every session of an Oxygen Facial ranges from $150 to $300. But you must remember, that subsequent sessions and maintenance is still the key to achieve the effects that you want. So if you’re really in pursuit to getting great results from this treatment, you can prepare $2,500 to $5,000 for the package. That’s 25,000 Pesos when converted, with the current exchange rate.

Whew! That’s a lot of money at this time! While there are lots of alternatives to maintain the radiance and beauty of our skins, the stress and other elements can still contribute to losing its glow. I would like to try it though but I think I need to lend more budget for that.

For those who have tried it, can you give me any advice?

By the way, I found an interesting video of how an oxygen facial is done.
