I’m actually looking for a good verse from Bible to share today. So I tried my luck on Google and found these interesting and truly encouraging verses for and about us, women. I took these three verses from Proverbs. Proverbs 11:16 A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth. Proverbs 12:4 A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones Proverbs 14:1 The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. Sometimes, we wonder why God is giving us with so much blessings. However, most of the times, these blessings, in the form of career opportunities are not good to the people we love. So we ask God why is he giving us such opportunities when in fact, it can hurt those people around us. This maybe very hard to accept but my answer is simple. One of the famous and widely used love quotes from the bible is: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy. Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude; It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongdoing. It does not delight in evil, But rejoices in the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves. There is nothing love cannot face; There is no limit to its faith, hope, and endurance. In a word, there are three things that last forever: Faith, hope, and love; But the greatest of them all is love….

I’m a regular reader of Our Daily Bread. I used to buy it on a yearly basis but this year, I decided not to buy. I’m currently reading the 2009 edition because I felt that I was not able to digest and apply what’s written on every page in my life.  I felt guilty ‘coz it seems that I know better the lines from a movie than the beautiful lines of this beautiful book. I was a bit late with my reading and this verse was dated February 7, 2009 with title, “Calling Myself”. An interesting question from the lesson…

“Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself – no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are – completely; the good and the bad – and make changes as YOU see fit – not because you think someone else wants you to be different.” – Stacey Charter “There are two sorts of affection – the love of a woman you respect, and the love for the woman you love” – Arthur Wing Pinero “He who does not have the…
