Our Chalet Baguio Experience
Last April 27 to May 1, 2013, we went to Baguio for a vacation. It’s actually a month after our Puerto Princesa Tour. Originally, we planned to stay there for four (4) days but decided to extend for one more day due to the cold weather. However, I got sick on the fourth day so we just stayed in the hotel (Golden Pine Hotel) the whole day.
We stayed in two hotels during our five days vacation. We have decided to do hotel hopping since places in Baguio are very accessible by taxi/cabs with Php35 (.$90) as its flag down. The first time we did hotel hopping was during our Cebu Tour. It just so happened that we will watch Brian Mcknight Concert in Waterfront and we need to avail the package of Crown Regency at the same time. From then on, we thought of hotel hopping is a good idea but only for those places where transportation is easy.
So going back to Baguio…
Our first hotel stop is in Chalet Hotel located in Upper Military Rd, Baguio City. Allow me to share our Chalet experience.
We’ve been to Baguio several times already but Chalet is so far, in our experience is one of the best budget hotels in Baguio we’ve ever stayed. I’ve already posted my Chalet review in Trip Advisor and as I’ve said, the hotel has really impressed us. Despite of the small space room (about 15 sqm), the services from their courteous staff and the food are the things that really satisfied us.
Here are the photos of the Chalet’s lobby and facade.

The room is equipped with a key card, LCD TV and safe where you can put your valuables. We never used the latter, though. The room internet is also fast and reliable.

Chalet’s comfort room is quite small but you have all the things that you need there. It has hot/cold shower and complimentary bath essentials.

As mentioned, the food is one of the reasons why we love this hotel. The complimentary breakfast and free dinner is served in their dining area (Dulcinea) and can be availed at anytime of the day from 6am to 10 pm. This is very convenient to those who have a hard time waking up early morning just to avail the complimentary breakfast. The food presentation is beautiful and the serving is fair enough to fuel you for the next 3-4 hours of touring around the city.

The hotel has a no smoking policy. So for those who are, the hotel has a designated area for you. What we just don’t like about this area is it has no light during the night.

Overall, our experience in Chalet hotel is very satisfying. We had a good night sleep because the place is quiet and the bed mattress is good. The staff is very accommodating especially those who are in the front desk and the guards who are always ready to give us a hand.
