What’s Inside This Japanese Bento?

According to studies, Japan has the highest life expectancy of any country. And one of the reasons why is their meticulous way of preparing food. Their art of selecting good portions of food is something that we should learn and adopt from them if we want a happy, healthy and long life.

This was our meal during our “Mt. Fuji Day Trip Including Lake Ashi Sightseeing Cruise from Tokyo” tour. It’s a Bento.

Egg, Veggie, Flower Jelly
Some sweets and veggies
Bento - Salmon, Chicken Karaage, Tamago, Lemon

Bento - mixed tempura
Mixed Vegetable and Ebi Tempura
Bento - Tuna Sashimi
Three slices of Tuna Sashimi

Honestly, we initially thought that this will not suffice, even though it includes a cup of rice and miso soup. Surprisingly, this lunch kept us full for 4-5 hours. No wonder, why Japanese are so slim yet energetic.

Since it’s our first time in Japan and Mt. Fuji is a bit far from Tokyo, we decided to book our tour in Viator. There are more than 900 reviews of this tour and a great number of it says that they were satisfied, including us. Here’s my fair share of our experience.
