According to studies, Japan has the highest life expectancy of any country. And one of the reasons why is their meticulous way of preparing food. Their art of selecting good portions of food is something that we should learn and adopt from them if we want a happy, healthy and long life. This was our meal during our “Mt. Fuji Day Trip Including Lake Ashi Sightseeing Cruise from Tokyo” tour. It’s a Bento. Some sweets and veggies Salmon, Chicken Karaage, Tamago, Lemon Mixed Vegetable and Ebi Tempura [caption…

With so many Korean restaurants in the country today, we wonder what would be the taste of an authentic Korean dish. So when we went to South Korea to celebrate my birthday last March, we listed some of the dishes we’d like to try. And one of them is the Korean BBQ or the Samgyeopsal. You can find a lot of BBQ restos anywhere in Seoul (as in) but we’re just happy we landed in Hanam Pig House. The resto is just a few blocks away from our hotel in Namdaemun so it was not a hassle when went back…

Cafe by the Ruins Facade25 Shuntug Rd Baguio City 2600 We heard so much about the Cafe by the Ruins especially the hot choco they serve. So we decided to celebrate our nth monthsary there (dinner) during our 5-day vacation trip in Baguio. At first glance, we find the place secluded because their signage is not that visible from the outside. However, we were surprised that there are many people inside when we arrived. The ambiance is nostalgic and romantic, I must say. Maybe because of the lighting and the wood structures. The restaurant is not…

When we’re still planning our trip to Cebu, we always talk about tasting what Anthony Bourdain called, the “best Lechon in the world”. Unfortunately, we were not able to do that. We’ve passed several Lechon restos and even take out counters during our 4-day trip in Cebu but for some unexplainable reason, its juicy skin did not land on our craving taste buds. sigh… BUT… looking back at our trip, we would always remember the food we had in Cebu. Though, our conversation normally includes “sayang hindi natin natikman ang Lechon Cebu”, we can easily divert our talks to the…

My honey and I really love to eat. But when we’re in Singapore, we didn’t ate that much since our hotel complimentary breakfast (YWCA) is often enough for our whole day tour (4-days) and they’re good ha. But we’ve also tried different street foods and dishes in Vivo City mall – where the monorail station going to Sentosa is located. The food in Singapore is good but we don’t know if we have eaten the authentic ones. I can relate their dishes to what is being served in HongKong and Macau, only that it is mixed with Indian food. We’re…
